PST File Compatibility
PSTCompactor is fully compatible with Microsoft Outlook 98, 2000, XP, 2000 and 2003 PST files. Additionally, your PST’s remain 100% Outlook compatible after processing.
PSTCompactor does not convert your PST's into any proprietary formats. Consequently, there is no need to install PSTCompactor on the computers of your staff.
PSTCompactor does not upgrade the PST file format -- mailboxes are still compatible with the version of Outlook which created them. That is, an Outlook 98-format PST file remains compatible with Outlook 98 even when processed by a server with Outlook 2003 installed.
Installation however requires Outlook 2000, XP or 2003 - the product can not be installed on a machine with Outlook 98 installed.
* To process Outlook 2003’s new format PST files, Outlook 2003 must be installed at each ‘Processing Engine’ server. Refer to "System Requirements" in the product documentation for further information.
Operating System Compatibility
PSTCompactor is compatible with Windows 2000 and later, as shown in the OS Compatibility table. Installation on Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0 is not supported.
Non English-based system comparability
Our testing environment does not include non-English versions of Windows or Office. Translations are developed in conjunction with and for the benefit of our customers. We make these translations available as a 'best effort' but can not guarantee 100% accuracy or reliability. Please contact support if you experience any problems.
Compatibility with PSTCompactor v1.xx
Major changes introduced in PSTCompactor v2 require modifications to existing Configuration Files. Please contact support if you have not already been provided a Migration Kit.
